You're not the only one feeling the craziness of this year…[2020]

Updated: May 15

Many of us, just like you, had no idea that 2020 was going to bring with it all that it has.

So many are still grappling with the surprise of it all let alone the confusion, financial upsets, anxiousness, turmoil, and even depression.

So, if you’ve been struggling to get a hold of things or adapt to the craziness that we’re all living through right now, I just wanna let you know you’re not alone.

Sometimes we can’t even take it day by day–we’ve gotta take it moment by moment, and that’s okay.

The bible tells us to be strong and courageous as opposed to terrified, because the Lord will never leave us nor forsake us as His children; instead, He promises to be with us wherever we go (Deuteronomy 31:6). This is a promise we can use during these times as an encouragement and assurance to strengthen and stabilize us (especially emotionally)!

I also, though, want to remind you that there is a balance in scripture. Let’s take a look at Galatians 6:2, which says: “Share in/bear one another’s burdens, and in so doing fulfill the law of Christ.” If you have been feeling alone and feeling the strain of carrying all the weight of the world and your problems, I really feel for you and empathize with your struggle–because, I have dealt with the same.

As much as I prayed and yearned for support, I realized it was hard for me to receive it. Shame, mistrust of others, pride, and fear all kept me very closely guarded, walled up, and suspicious of others and of making a mistake in inviting others in. The problem result, though, was that I was suffocating underneath the weight of trying to handle it all alone. I’m reminded of Ecclesiastes 4:12: “Though one [alone] may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. [And] A cord of three strands is not easily broken.” Thank God that even though we may struggle with letting others in, we don’t have to handle this thing called life alone.

We can let others help and support us along the way, and we can do the same for them.

Have you been struggling to cope with life lately?

Are you feeling alone in your battles?

Does it feel like you’re not making progress despite your efforts?
