everyone is dreaming, but not many ‘awake’ to ACCOMPLISH

Updated: May 14

I don’t think there’s a single person who doesn’t dream. Who doesn’t yearn for something and imagine what it would be like to possess it for themselves, to experience it. We’re all alike in this regard, I’d say.

From the trivial to the significant to the absolutely necessary, there is something that everyone is wanting and wishing were theirs.

To me, the contrast becomes clear when we take a look at what we do about what we want. After we desire, what comes next? After we fantasize and dream…what do we do?

Unfortunately…a lot of the time…we just do nothing.

We’re still in the thick of the start of a brand new year—a fresh landscape; a clean canvas. Everyone’s thinking of what they’ve wanted before and what they want now. Lots of us are even thinking about what we can do or do differently to obtain what we want.

Some of us, however, have still not quite actually done anything yet though.

How you start a thing does not always foretell how you’ll finish. However, it can set a certain tone that can prove to be difficult to disrupt. You get into a groove and get comfortable—only to realize it wasn’t a good one to get into.

I’m writing to you, whoever you are, because I don’t want you to lie to yourself if you know you’ve often talked more, dreamed more, even daydreamed more than you’ve been willing to work or act. I also, however, don’t want you to get distracted right back into inactivity by guilt and shame if you’ve already realized you do.

January is not quite over.

The first month still counts as a start! Do something different towards what you’ve been desiring and longing for before this month ends. What’s one thing you intend to do before February 1?

Don’t waste your opportunities!

Marie
