Four Tips For When You’re Feeling STRESSED OUT

Updated: May 15

Recently I have been feeling stressed to the MAX. With the possibility of moving to another city lingering overhead, the fear and excitement of building a business that I want to turn into a career I love, and juggling friendships/relationships I have times when I feel like I’m just going to lose it. It’s in those times that I have to be careful to respond in a better way than I have in the past. I want to continue to move forward—always forward.

Sound like you? Check out my four tips on what to do when you’re feeling stressed out:

Breathe.

Yeah, I get it, you’ve heard it before. I can’t tell you though, how much pausing to just close your eyes and take a deep breathe can help you move a bit closer to your center.

Pray.

Even if all you manage to say is “Jesus”. Reconnecting with your source, your resource, your provider, can be a powerful step towards bringing back that peace you’re needing.

Focus.

When you’re stressed your mind is a frenzy of half completed thoughts about what’s not getting done, what needs to be done, decisions that need to be made, etc. Take a second to get clear on exactly what is stressing you right now and what you can do about it (sometimes it helps to whip out your phone or a notebook and jot these things down).

Plan.

This is a continuation of my last tip. What can you do about what is driving you crazy? There is always at least something we can do, even when it doesn’t feel like it. Planning a course of action always makes me feel better, because it reminds me that i am empowered, not powerless. I have some control over my situation, and my situation does not control me.

Have you ever tried any of these tips when you’ve felt stressed? How did they work for you? Maybe you have some tips of your own! Feel free to share them with us in the comments below. ❤️
