If you're still sleeping on affirmations, despite all the hype, you are making a (huge) mistake…

I like to define an affirmation as a phrase or sentence that you say or a truth you decree that is self, life, or circumstance affirming to bring you closer into what it is that you are believing, seeking, hoping for, or desiring.
Using affirmations can be like a faith exercise/builder and a tool to bring into fruition, under the authority and confidence you have in Jesus Christ, the promises of God and will of God for your life. As a believer, if you’re not using the word of God in affirmation-like style to decree it and receive it by faith, then I just gotta tell you: you are really missing out. The bible tells us that we can decree a thing and it be established and the Lord will shine on our ways (Job 22:28). The bible also tells us that life and death is in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat the fruit thereof (Proverbs 18:21). And again, the bible tells us to put God in remembrance of His word (Isaiah 43:26) and to encourage ourselves in the Lord (1 Samuel 30:6). All of these imply or directly encourage the using of the word and will of God spoken aloud by us!
As you can see from Job 22:28 mentioned earlier, you don’t need the law of attraction or the secret or any of that through-the-backdoor stuff; there are biblical principles like decreeing a thing and operating in faith in this way to bring you into greater alignment with what God has for you. In fact, I’d go so far as to say that if you are not regularly decreeing and asserting the word of God over yourself, life, and future in the authority that you have in Christ that you are missing a powerful weapon and tool in your arsenal (and evidence of that is probably clear in yourself or life today if you were to evaluate it closely).
There is something powerful about the fact that affirmations are generally spoken aloud. They also typically should be in present or future tense, as though the thing you are speaking is happening or about to happen. You really are speaking and decreeing a thing, and remember how powerful your tongue is. This is originally of God. Don’t get it twisted-the devil is just being a copycat with this law of attraction and manifestation stuff that excludes God from the picture and focuses on self. This is spiritually dangerous, and I’d encourage you to stay away from that. You cannot trump God’s will with your own. Don’t let satan deceive you: many are the plans in a man’s heart but it is the Lord’s will that prevails (Proverbs 19:21). We see in God’s word how He speaks those things that be not as though they were (Romans 4:17).
We are called to imitate God and be imitators and followers of Him (Ephesians 5:1)! We should also strive to be like Him in this area! Use your power and authority and quite literally start affirming yourself! It is producing fruit and fighting on your behalf in the spiritual realm. It is also aiding in that process of seeing the spiritual be made manifest according to God’s will in your life. You need this kind of warfare and encouragement! It is an incredible gift and tool you can give to yourself.
Step it up past cliché statements and cute phrases, and put the word of God in there. Don’t miss your blessings or delay them, because you’re unwilling to open your mouth. You can do it! Pick one verse, and say it aloud right now. Like this one:“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me–I am not a victim; I’m more than a conqueror through Jesus Christ (Philippians 4:13; Romans 8:37).” Say it with confidence. Say it like you mean it! “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me–I am not a victim; I’m more than a conqueror through Jesus Christ!”
How do you feel? Just look at you–You sound great!!! Now practice that every day.
